Summary of the role

Amadeus is committed to providing customers globally with superior service to ensure their success in using Amadeus solutions. Amadeus Enterprise Program Services team offers first line service to its global customer base in the hospitality industry. The first priority of the Enterprise Program Services team is to onboard successfully every customer (individual or group) and make them successful in using our products.

As part of these solutions, Amadeus has created the Amadeus Hotel Platform (AHP) to provide an integrated Central Reservation System (CRS) and Property Management System (PMS) solution to support large multi-national hotel chains.

Our team is part of the Enterprise Program Services department, and our role is to provide robust, efficient set of tools and complex processes to migrate hotels to our CRS and PMS solutions, in the most optimized way for our Customers and for Amadeus. This includes initial data migration for set up activities and also to allow Customers to massively update their data in these solutions, providing operational speed and lower costs on their daily operations.

The Data Engineer is in charge of gathering the challenges and complex technical activities from Amadeus and our Customers to optimize data migration activities, auditing current processes and tools to propose improvements in the activities, automation and tools configurations, selecting new technologies to improve automation tools and be able to provide POC/pilots using those technologies, be able to execute SWOT analysis on different solutions, gathering documentation, building KPIs and helping to build dashboard to provide visibility and building a comprehensive procedures that can be executed by less senior members of the team.

In this role you’ll:

• develop, test and maintain scripts for data population and migration, using Python. SWOT analysis and POC on tools and libraries that can improve data migration processes
• Supervise and contribute cross-functional teams to design, test and deploy data architecture and solution
• Collect, formalize and prioritize data setup and migration requirements (both customer and internal one
• Supervise and coach junior resources of the team
• Popularize complex customer and data migration challenges, handle risks to the broader R&D teams and make escalations both internally and with customer
• Assist with the technical and functional knowledge transfer to customers, partners, and internal support teams
• Build governance model regarding data ownership, data access and data change lifecycle
• Track data for KPIs to measure team effort, efficiency in data migration processes and contribute to resource capacity planning and to provide visibility on the actions that should be improved
• Carry out tasks related to user provisioning and product initial setup

About the ideal candidate

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering or computer science) or equivalent work experience
• 3-10 years of experience in IT Domain overall
• Experience in technical development, scripting and data pipelines
• Experience on the functional side of a development team (Technical Business Analyst, Product owner, QA...)
• Experience with OTA/GDS channels
• Experience with SDLC, Agile methodologies and continuous delivery
• SQL, JSON, XML, API Development, at least one programming language (Java, C++) and scripting language Python
