Alteryx is searching for an Associate Data Engineer in our Ann Arbor, MI office (REMOTE is an option).
As an Associate Data Engineer on the Alteryx Data Science team, you will be part of an innovative and groundbreaking team, being primarily responsible for engineering and supporting a world class enterprise data management platform and driving continuous improvement for a world class analytics company. You will work closely with other data engineers, data scientists, and line of business associates to build out new system features/functionality and help bring thoughtfully curated data systems and products that the Alteryx organization can trust. Success in this role is critical to our commitment to becoming a world-class Data Science team and fostering Alteryx’s Data Science journey!
Position details/requirements
Learn hands-on from Senior Data Engineers how to build enterprise pipelines with repeatable, scalable, and resilient processes and designs
Triage inbound support requests by investigating our production pipelines and helping squash bugs
Test production-ready pipelines to ensure the utmost quality and promote trust in the data
Translate business requirements into curated data assets to empower our business partners with the information needed to make the best data-driven decisions
Help grow and improve our highly scalable data management ecosystem to adapt and support the evolving needs of our business partners
Use your innate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and internal drive to continually grow, develop, and hone your craft
Be fanatical about the data analytics space and help evangelize our work, team, and Alteryx as a whole!
Qualifications
Need to Have
Data engineering / development / integration internship or project experience
Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse development
Comfortable with data modeling practices (dimensional vs relational)
Intermediate SQL experience
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work with geographically distributed teams
Ability to work with other teams across an organization
Strong oral and written communication
BA/BS degree in Information Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field
Helpful to Have
Experience with Alteryx platform
Experience with Snowflake
Ability to read and create ERDs
Knowledge of at least one modern scripting language (Python, R, etc.)
Experience with automated software testing and deployment
Experience supporting or working in enterprise analytics environments
Compensation:
Alteryx is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Ann Arbor, MI will begin in the $75,000 - $85,000+ range. Compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus and stock grants.
