Our Mission is to enable farmers in the tropics to replace synthetic fertilisers, pesticides and limestone with (silicate) rock powder from local mines.


Your Responsibilities And Desired Outcomes


As Earth Science Modeler & Data Analyst, you will be responsible for receiving and managing all important data coming from our experiments in the lab, greenhouse or field. After running the necessary analytics, you will be responsible for creating reports and deducting learnings and implications for robust modeling of Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) in tropical soils.


You will also be responsible for comparing and deeply understanding various existing modeling approaches related to, inter alia, rock weathering, soil science and carbonate transport in ground and surface waters. Combined with the data analytics, you will be one of the key players of the InPlanet team to drive ERW model development, validation and calibration.


To fulfil this role you will bring a combination of top-notch science expertise, precision, focus, hands-on mentality, positive energy and the ability to drive things forward.


Key Skills And Competencies We Are Looking For


  • You have experience with analysing data from various experiments in the lab, greenhouse and field
  • You compare, present and discuss data internally with our (science) team as well as with other leading researchers globally
  • You deep dive into every detail related to the modeling of ERW
  • You co-create new experiments to drive qualitative and quantitative data collection to validate carbon removal through ERW
  • You are passionate about solving Climate Change and Carbon Removal
  • You are a demonstarted fast learner and want to steadily improve your professional and personal skill set
  • You can break down complex problems and present them in a clear and concise way
  • You have a PhD (or minimum a master’s degree) in Geology, Soil science, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Mineralogy, Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences or a related field
  • You are skilled with programming languages like R and Python
  • You are fluent (written and verbal) in English, Portuguese is a plus
