We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Data Analyst – ABOR (f/m/d). This positions is based in our Frankfurt office.

Within the Data & Technology department, the primary mission of the Data Management – Global Services team is to design and manage quality-assured, timely and diligent dataflow for the high volume of Investment Data required and consumed by many functions. Our teammates demonstrate a dual competence: strong business knowledge of Investment Data and sophisticated Data Analysis techniques.

The team develops, runs and uses state-of-art technologies (Markit EDM, Microsoft SQL Server 2019, Microsoft Cloud etc.) to store and master the data required by various functions.

We are in the process of onboarding a new global data domain onto our data platform – ABOR: Accounting Book of Record (Fondsbuchhaltung) – and are looking for 2 ABOR Data Analysts to join our diverse team with a global footprint (Hong Kong, India, Germany, France, UK, US) and operating under a 24/7 follow-the-sun model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our internal data structure and dataflows, especially ABOR Dataset - which enabling Allianz Global Investors to be a robust and data-driven investment firm
  • Take daily ownership of data workflow monitoring and analyzing and enhancing our data quality check framework over ABOR dataset
  • Develop, support, document and improve processes assigned to the production/run team, especially related to the ABOR dataset
  • Identify and analyse expectations in ABOR dataset based on a robust understanding of the data and workflows and to articulate root causes and own the resolution of issues
  • Address queries / issues raised by consuming functions of the ABOR data quickly and effectively
  • Interact with ABOR data providers for data issues and service reviews: help to drive continuous improvement
  • Work with application developers and business users to create processes to proactively prevent data quality issues related to ABOR data
  • Recommend solution design ideas for an efficient and scalable ABOR data and data quality framework
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders (Data Solutions, Investment, Front and Middle Offices, Risk, Compliance, Audit etc.)
  • Act as a reliable Data Steward and support Data Strategy and Data Governance Principles

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:

  • Academic degree in Economics, Business Administration, Business Information Technology or related field of study
  • Ideally 3 – 5 years of experience within the Investment Management Sector, ideally in a role where you could develop a domain knowledge on Fund Accounting and / or on the ABOR dataset
  • Solid understanding of global financial markets, a wide range of asset classes, various types of investment data, and data management tools
  • Strong Data Analysis skills, supported by good Data Intuition skills and curiosity are a must
  • SQL and Excel Skills are required, while PowerPoint, VBA, Python and Power BI knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with Bloomberg AIM, Markit EDM and JIRA is a plus
  • Open for challenges: able and willing to work in a global and fast-paced Run environment with high pressure, whilst delivering insightful and accurate analysis of sometimes sophisticated datasets
  • Critical thinker who is willing to challenge the status quo constructively and take ownership for driving BAU improvements
  • Highly motivated: eager to undergo a steep learning curve and share knowledge and best practice ideas at every opportunity
  • Proficiency in English and German is required; other languages, such as French, are a plus
