The Senior Business Data Analyst (SBDA) is a critical partner, leading data and analytics for strategic business initiatives. The SBDA is responsible for working across functional group(s), clearly communicating insights to senior leaders, and driving business impact.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, statistics, math or economics or a related technical or quantitative field
  • Ideally 5-7 years’ experience working with product/data analytics, preferably within the software industry
  • Advanced SQL
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, and/or Domo
  • Apply descriptive and predictive modelling and methodologies to drive solutions
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to conduct meetings and make professional presentations, and to explain complex concepts and technical material to non-technical users.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Python/R an added bonus

How you will lead

The SBDA uses business domain knowledge in combination with data and analytics to deliver projects, including market/category insights, experiment design, creating dashboards, measuring business results, and analyzing customer behaviour. They will also utilize multiple analytics tools and techniques based on business requirements. Analytics expertise includes (but are not limited to) performance variance testing, A/B and multivariate testing, ROI measurement, statistical analysis, segmentation, and ML modeling (supervised and unsupervised).

The SBDA also relies on proficiency in accessing data from various sources, such as relational databases, distributed data sources and, third party data capture tools. Creating analyses using visualization tools (ex. Tableau, Domo, Power BI) to share customized insights with business and analytics partners. They can prototype data sets used in reporting and analyses. They also use knowledge of A/B testing to design, implement, and interpret test results using common frameworks. In addition, the SBDA keeps a pulse on emerging technologies (such as data exploration, data modeling, visualization and testing) and statistical methods that would make their work more scalable or more efficient for Intuit.

The SBDA marshals resources and seeks commitment across multiple functions (such as business stakeholders, data and analytics experts, and IT infrastructure partners) to achieve measurable business outcomes across Marketing, Product, Sales, Operations and Customer Care. The SBDA is also expected to coach fellow analysts and stakeholders on their craft to help build a great data community and data-driven leaders.
