The Opportunity

We are currently looking to recruit a Passenger Transport Data Analyst to work on the HPC project, a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the first of the UK’s next generation of Nuclear power stations, HPC is both high profile and high complexity. Its delivery will be reliant not only on innovative engineering and construction but also on the strongest of Leadership qualities amongst its Senior Project Managers. The role is to provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the Civils Programme of HPC, whilst recognising and managing the impacts of the programme on the wider Project. If you are successful you will be responsible for delivery of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) bus service contract and associated data analysis to provide travel to and from HPC site in accordance with the overall project schedule and comply with all transport related planning conditions for HPC.

As a Passenger Transport Data Analyst, you will also act as the named ‘Transport Coordinator’ and you will be responsible for the management, development and implementation of the HPC Travel Plan to ensure appropriate management of the movement of the workforce. You will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for providing data, shift pattern integration, and travel plan statistics to the Transport Steering Group and wider Site Operations management team for service level planning. You will require to have a knowledge and experience of the following data systems: Excel script and complex multi-layered functions, Visual Basic Applications, Power Query experience, Vlookup, Pivot tables.

The Person

As a Passenger Transport Data Analyst, you will;

  • Manage day to day the provision of a critical site support service to a construction workforce of up to circa 8,500
  • Assist in the management of a specific service contract valued at circa £80m [full project lifecycle]
  • Be accountable for ensuring all statutory, regulatory and site controls are complied with
  • Form effective relationships with their service contract partner and champion; clarity, respect, positivity, humility and integrity
  • Ensure the contract partners team are fully competent to perform their assigned roles – and that any shortfalls are reported to the Service Manager without delay
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds the expectations and project work schedule
  • Ensure early intervention to avoid any escalation of issues affecting service delivery by working in the spirit of a ‘one team approach’

The Skills

Essential Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working with data analysis and integration software
  • Expert level knowledge and experience of Excel script and complex multi-layered functions,
  • Experience with data systems: Visual Basic Applications, Power Query, Vlookup, Pivot tables.
  • Higher Education standard education in related subject.
  • Experience of working with and developing budgets
  • Management [or leadership] experience in a service lead environment.
  • Experience of working in a high security environment.
  • Must be confident in own abilities and be able to deliver in a dynamic environment including periodic service audits in the early morning and late evening.
  • Willingness to learn from both successes and failures.
  • Proven experience within a large project environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to strike up effective working relationships.
  • Must be willing to work with our local supply chain partners in a cooperative way.

Desirable Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognised and certificated ‘Behavioural Safety Programme’.
  • Recent IOSH accreditation [or equivalent].
