Although we are currently in the North American market, we see great opportunity to expand our markets. To support this, we are currently looking for a Junior Data Scientist join the Actuarial Analytics Group in either our headquarters in Warren, New Jersey or our Philadelphia, PA office.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Design, build, and partner to implement machine learning/predictive models to improve business decisions
  • Work with managers to understand the business’ problems to identify the optimal modeling approach
  • Present analytical findings/summaries to stakeholders
  • Embrace modeling development methodologies that aim to quickly move proof-of-concepts into production
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest trends and innovation in data technology
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • 1 - 3 years experience as a data scientist, ideally in P&C insurance, CSPA or pursuing CSPA a plus
  • Strong coding skills of python, R, SQL, familiarity with Spark is an asset
  • Familiarity of pricing, reserving and monitoring for multiple classes of commercial insurance a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of machine-learning approaches & hands-on experience of the end-to end process
  • Project management skills including documentation and written/verbal communication skills around project requirements and status
  • Flexibility to work within resource and timing constraints
  • Enjoys collaborating in a dynamic environment with autonomy, responsibility, and visibility
