BGC is currently seeking a Data Analyst to support a Federal agency.
Design, create, and maintain large and complex project data as requested, including extraction of data from large relational databases of medical records and other health care administrative data. Perform checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and overall quality of the data.
Use SAS (preferred), Stata or other statistical software to implement statistical analysis plans in support of projects and reports,
Perform checks of data to identify potential problems, though the use of frequencies, listings, summaries, and calculating meaningful data metrics. Resolve issues identified, and if necessary, recommend alternative but appropriate approaches.
Review analytic results for accuracy and completeness. Organize and summarize results and display them using tabular or graphic representation, dashboards, as well as narrative description (e.g., reports, data dictionaries).
Develop and maintain analysis and project documentation for suicide prevention (e.g., code for data management and analysis steps, results, and methodology).
Proofreading and editing drafts of data analysis materials and making recommendations to senior staff regarding clarity, organization and layout. Contribute to working papers, reports, publications, and presentations.
Solid grounding in statistical theory and application, as well as epidemiological principals and/or health services research – Masters level training or equivalent
Experience in suicide prevention preferred
Experience in data management and preparing data for analysis
Proficiency with summarizing statistical methods and results in writing with the quality necessary for published reports and manuscripts
