CMFG Life Insurance Company, d/b/a CUNA Mutual Group, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for our Madison, WI office.
In a strategic leadership capacity, this individual will utilize data and analytical ability to find and interpret rich data sources; manage large amounts of data despite hardware, software, and bandwidth constraints; merge data sources; ensure consistency of datasets; create visualizations to aid in understanding data; build predictive models using the data; and present and communicate the data insights/findings. This individual will lead medium to large-sized projects and mentor junior team members as needed. This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory duties.
MS in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related field and three years of progressive experience with data analysis. As part of the three years of progressive data analysis experience the individual must have:
3 years experience in model design, model build, model tuning, model evaluation, and model selection approach with R and Python;
3 years experience in data wrangling, data engineering, and developing extract transform and load (ETL ), with one-year experience in Azure automation using power shell;
3 years experience with machine learning predictive techniques using GLMs , decision trees, boosted ensembles, neural networks, deep learning, time series analysis, K-Means Clustering, Density-Based Clustering, and Hierarchical Clustering;
3 years experience in analyzing large data using Apache Hadoop;
3 years experience in documenting model metrics – data inputs, assumptions, calculations, and use of model output, identify and document high-risk areas inherent in the model; and
2 years experience using SQL on Teradata and Microsoft SQL server for data warehousing project with dimension modeling.
