About the role


As an ETL Data Engineer (SAP FI), you will be responsible for the design of the new group-wide Data Exchange and Preparation Layer for the new SAP FI and transfer of the existing, automated inbound and outbound SAP FI interfaces of the approximately 200 existing companies mainly in Europe, but also in Asia, to the new solution.


How you will get the job done


  • developing and optimizing SAP FI Global Template, Data Exchange and Preparation Layer
  • migrating data and automated interfaces to a new SAP FI General Ledger solution
  • analising the current status of the existing interfaces, requirements analysis including management of the business stakeholders, the business concept for the new solution, including creation of the business and target architecture and intensive involvement in software selection
  • taking on the role of a business product owner, which includes backlog management, continuous specification of business requirements, stakeholder management, testing from business point of view
  • setting up the business operating processes and helping to set up the target operating model
  • supporting the central and local business contact partner in an advisory capacity and taking responsibility for the solution and making decisions within the appropriate scope of action


Skills and experience you will need


  • English language skills at min. C1 level
  • University degree, ideally in Business Informatics or a comparable qualification
  • in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of SAP interface technologies and experience in the design of data exchange architectures and the design and implementation of data processes
  • several years of professional experience with a focus on interface management, ETL, data exchange platforms in the accounting environment
  • profound professional experience and knowledge in requirements analysis, conception and realization of SAP Data, Interface Management and SAP FI S/4 HANA implementations in the accounting environment of an internationally oriented insurance group
  • experience in managing the entire implementation cycle of SAP FI from the creation of requirements to the support from business point of view of the implementation, the execution of business acceptances and the go-live.
  • experience in working as a product owner in agile IT implementation projects
  • knowledge of general ledger accounting processes with a focus on automated subledger and general ledger interactions
  • the ability to analyze and present complex data processes, assertiveness, openness to feedback and skill in communicating with colleagues at all levels of the company are essential components of your personality
  • very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Power BI)
