Job description

The Successful Candidate’s Key Work Areas Will Be

Supporting Research Statisticians
  • Using appropriate data cleaning and wrangling tools to modify and transform data sets from raw input files to analysis-ready data frames using appropriate, efficient, well-annotated R code
  • Production of high quality outputs including word, pdf, html and Rmarkdown files, along with interactive outputs via dashboards including (but not limited to) flexdashboard and RShiny
  • Involvement in a variety of data working groups to improve and align data visualisation (following GSS accessibility requirements) expand the use of RShiny apps for product development at FR and improve coding efficiency
Supporting FR Scientists
  • Effective communication of data processing and visualisation techniques to a scientific audience but with little to no coding background through teaching and mentoring
  • Manipulation and cleaning of potentially large and/or complex datasets with applied quality assurance processes
  • Responding to ad-hoc data cleaning, wrangling and presentation queries in an effective, efficient and timely manner
