In this role you will research, develop and test cutting-edge algorithms/models to analyze diverse sources of data. Additionally, you will produce new Proof of Concepts (small-scale projects to test the feasibility of new ideas) that will become part of Deltatre Innovation Lab assets. As our Data Scientist, the candidate will provide expertise on mathematical, statistical and data science concepts and inspire the adoption of Data Science across the organization.
Curiosity and a desire to learn are highly valued in this role, as you will be working within the Deltatre Innovation Lab. This entity focuses on developing solutions based on advanced technologies to enhance Deltatre’s value proposition.
As part of the job, our Data Scientist will also:
- Mine vast amount of data for useful insights and use them to influence how a business challenge is approached
- Use a combined knowledge of computer science and statistics and analytics to solve specific problems
- Ability to evaluate and monitor model performance
- Propose, test, select, and build predictive models and machine learning algorithms
- Propose different Data Scientists' tools
- Actively share and distribute knowledge within the team/company
Requirements:
- Programming languages – proficiency in Python
- Strong statistical skills
- Experience with common Data Science toolkits (scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter Notebooks…)
- Understanding of common ML/DL libraries and frameworks
- Experience with at least one the frameworks such as Tensorflow / Pytorch. Both is a plus
- Problem solving ability, particularly when dealing with large datasets
- Comfortable in working in international teams
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
- Ability to work on multiple projects and sustaining context switches
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Curiosity and desire to learn
Bonus knowledge:
- Computer Science/Engineering background
- Knowledge of C++/C#/Java (the more the better)
- Agile (Scrum) best practices knowledge
- Cloud basic concepts understanding
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Studio or equivalent semi-automated ML services (Google Cloud AutoML, Amazon ML, IBM Watson ML Model Builder)
- Experience with platforms for custom modelling such as: Microsoft Azure ML Services, Google ML Engine, Amazon SageMaker, IBM Watson ML Studio
- Certifying MOOCS (Coursera, Stanford, etc...) can be a complement
- Experience with Data Science Libraries like Spark (Mlib)
- Public Speaking experience
