Primary aspects of the role
A) Creates, implements and maintains the data structures and integrations of the master data management solution utilized by business users; Supports the efforts of the business teams responsible for data governance.
B) Monitor and report on system operations pertaining to the centralized master data management solution and associated transactional system integrations.
C) Provide data analysis and architecture skills to various project teams
D) Work with members of the business intelligence teams to turn raw data into information and insight, which can be used to make business decisions

Day to day
Using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
Analyse data for the removal of incorrect data mappings resulting into errors and related problems affecting business processes.
Developing and maintaining databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format .
Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data, then translate this into designs for user reports or systems integrations.
Troubleshoot technical issues relating to master data management and identify technical solutions to solve gaps in data architecture and processes.
Work with analysts, project managers, architects, team leads and business stakeholders on an ongoing basis in support of projects and business as usual.
Filter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems
Analyzing data structures in order to inform and complete data designs for new systems
Using statistical and database tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets
Analyzing local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
Preparing data quality and master data reports with trends, patterns and anomalies for correction
Working with programmers, engineers, and line managers to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
Technical writing of technical specifications for developers to implement, including data structures, data models, integration protocols and data flows.

Skills to utilize and further develop
Technical tool-set:
Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, object-oriented programming within scripting language like Java, Powershell, Batch script and tools like TalenD MDM openstudio.
Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.
Handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases
Creating statistics with statistical packages like Excel, SSAS (Microsoft SQL
Server Analysis Services) to be used for data set analyzing
Using data visualization software like Tableau, Qlik
Future exposure: Using data processing platforms like Hadoop and Apache Spark

Knowledge
Mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions
