Business Data Analyst

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional with a passion for data. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. This position can be located in Saint John, Fredericton or remote within Atlantic Canada.


Business Data Analyst responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

  • Analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Identify and define opportunities to improve data quality and quantity
  • Prepare detailed analysis and present recommendations for improvement to team members and management
  • Work with leadership to help prioritize data improvement initiatives
  • Triage incoming data investigations using standardized procedures, investigate issues and develop acceptance criteria for fixes
  • Evolve data quality reports and dashboards, and distribute standardized health metrics
  • Organize and coordinate detailed analysis work items for other data analysts


  • BA/BS in a field that emphasizes data analysis and visualization (e.g., computer science, social sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering, or statistics), or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with advanced SQL queries
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience manipulating large data sets through statistical software or other methods
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau or PowerBi
  • Very organized with the ability to plan work independently and meet deadlines
  • Able to relate and communicate effectively to stakeholders as well as software developers, data engineers, and data scientists
  • Experience working in an agile environment within a development team
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
