Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Middle Data Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina. Our client is a leading online training provider. Established in 1997 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, they have earned accreditation from esteemed organizations and regulatory bodies like the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), and the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), among others. We are seeking a Data Engineer to join the team and provide support to the organization’s reporting requirements. This role would involve evaluating acquired source data systems, mapping data to the data structure, and writing pipelines to ingest/transform data. The project duration is at least 5-6 months, with a high probability of extension if all goes well.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Science or Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience writing SQL code: Stored Procedures, Functions, Queries, Query Optimization, DML (SQL server, MySQL, and DB2).
- Understanding in evaluating source data systems.
- Understanding writing pipelines to ingest/transform data.
- Knowledge of mapping data to the data structures.
- Knowledge of using blob storage.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate acquired source data systems and perform data analysis and mapping to align data structures between source and target systems.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the migration process.
- Provide the mapping data to the data structure.
- Write pipelines to ingest/transform data.
- Develop new and support existing ETL processes utilizing Azure data factory, logic apps, etc.
- Document mappings of data points, describing various sources and targets, error handling, logging, etc.
- Provide support to the organization’s reporting requirements. Create ad hoc reports as requested.
- Support business teams in utilizing the data warehouse effectively by identifying gaps in data, working on enriching the data warehouse, and enabling businesses to perform self-service functions.
- Assist with data migration for company acquisitions.
- Stay updated with new data migration technologies and best practices.
Will Be a Plus
- Experience designing and developing new reports, creating data-driven subscriptions, and maintaining and enhancing existing reports using SQL server reporting services.
- Experience with source control systems like Git and TFS.
- Experience with core Azure services related to data and analytics and deploying Azure components using PowerShell scripting and Azure ARM templates.
- Understanding of Agile development methodology and familiarity with tools such as Atlassian JIRA.
