Our client based in Calgary is looking to add a seasoned (Mid-to-Sr level) Data Analyst to improve on current reporting and conduct qualitative data analysis. Location : Calgary hybrid (1-2 days per week on site/ fully remote is NOT possible for this role) Duration: until end of March 2024 with strong probability of extension Workweek: 37.5hr Rate: open rate/ market rate Deliverables: The client-company is moving toward more data driven decisions and an expectation the data is accurate and defensible. This requires timely and accurate data for input into decision making and to be aware of upcoming trends. Reporting is needed to highlight areas for focus and improvement. Requirements: 5-7 years of Data Analytics experience with strong understanding of d ata analysis, data migration, data modeling, and data architecture . Hands-on with the Tableau reporting platform Strong writing skills and process documentation skills. Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities. Customer-service oriented, evidenced by a solution-focused, pro-active, self-starter mindset. Industry experience in oil and gas / regulatory domain Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline Responsibilities: Perform ad-hoc analysis to troubleshoot data related issues. Create new Tableau reports that combine data from the existing spreadsheets. Take into account that some of the data is confidential. QA/QC of data in current spreadsheets to ensure consistency. Incorporate recommendations to improve data currently stored in Excel. Gather data differently so that we can more accurately reflect what people are saying and predict trends. Specific skills/experience: -Using data for project management functions -Incorporation of a risk heat index or risk heat map. A risk heat map could assist in tracking the level of priority associated with each interaction. -Development of a data terminology and definitions document. This would help to ensure that enterprise users are all operating with the same understanding of key terms. -Incorporation of standards on how data is captured to increase data integrity. This ensures that the staff are capturing the same type and breadth of information. Perform qualitative data analysis for data obtained through surveys that are part of the Engagement and Communications branch measurement program. Consulting and collaborating with people to identify technical errors and requirements for resolution. Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and willingness to work on implementing them. Lead and participate in meetings, reviews, and other discussions as required.
