DATA Engineer

- Port existing data pipelines and make data available to an internal data fabric.
- Build new data acquisition and transformation pipelines using big data and cloud technologies.
- Work with the broader technology team, including information technology, information systems, and 3rd parties to align pipelines.
- Use Azure Data Factory to move/transform data.
- Contribute to data quality framework.
- Contribute to proof-of-concept efforts in Advanced Data Analytics
- Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
- Participate in establishing system documentation standards and QA methodologies.
- Report Writing
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering with at least 4 years of professional software work experience
- Deep understanding of REST, good API design, and OOP principles
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, R, PHP etc. In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), including advanced SQL coding, relational database design, data warehousing
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Self-starter and motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced software development environment
- Proficiency in the development environment, including IDE, database server, GIT, Continuous Integration.
- Basic understanding on software development programming languages like Java, Oracle PL/SQL.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field.
- Solid grasp of data warehouse concepts and terminology.
- Proficient in SQL. Experience with Python preferred.
- Experience with the Microsoft Data/BI Stack (MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI).
- Experience with Azure
- Experience with major ERP and Business Intelligence systems (Power BI and Cognos are a strong plus).
