In this dynamic environment, 24 DevOps teams work on the continuous development of our advanced application landscape. Seventy percent of them are Java-based. Our team works with techniques such as Java8, Spring Boot, Restful APIs, and Mongo DB. All systems run in AWS.
Senior Data Engineer

With smart algorithms and ingenious self-learning systems, you surprise the users of our systems with unique insights, perfectly tailored to their needs and preferences.
The Data Science Talent team
The team consists of 8 members in total; three other data engineers, two data scientists, a scrum master, and a product owner. There is an interesting cross-fertilization with the other innovation/scrum teams and with departments outside the IT department. This way you connect with various stakeholders in the organization, such as product owners, and with internal and external end-users such as recruiters, marketers, and candidates. There is ample opportunity to expand your knowledge and learn from your colleagues.
The goal of the Data Science Talent team is to complement the expertise of Randstad by building state of the art artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, and search- and match solutions. With these solutions, we can present unique insights to users, based on all available information and user preferences, at the right time and in the right context. Our goal is to support our clients, talents, and recruiters in finding the information they need in their journey.
We value continuous learning. Therefore, we organize a research day every two weeks, where we have the time to research topics and techniques that are of interest to us. Moreover, we share our learnings to not only promote personal growth but also grow as a team.

What will be your assignment?
As part of a new project, called Randstad Accelerate, one of the defined objectives is the redesign of our algorithms.
For the Data Science Talent team, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who can help us to further develop our recommendation systems to provide recommendations in real-time. In this team, we mainly use the following technologies: AWS (ECS, Kinesis, SQS, S3, RDS), Docker, Airflow, Elasticsearch, Python, Scala.
What we expect of you
The team consists of data scientists and developers. You will be working as a developer on the new search and match a solution, based on ElasticSearch and on the industrialization of new recommendation algorithms. You need to able to acquire the necessary skills and techniques quickly. You are required to help in designing the architecture. Therefore you must be able to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of application architecture.
