As the Senior Data Engineer on the Business Intelligence Services team supporting the People Analytics function, you will play a critical role in influencing and driving change through the implementation of data analytics. You will be responsible for data pipeline development, optimization of data flow and collection. Other responsibilities include working with data pipeline and visualization experts, creating data tools and models for business intelligence optimization, and collaborating with stakeholders to further enhance data systems.

The People Analytics function is insourcing its back-end data infrastructure and quickly building out its capabilities beyond business intelligence into more rigorous data science and research work to enable the business to operate proactively, efficiently, and innovatively in leveraging its talent. The Senior Data Engineer is a key member of the Business Intelligence Services team that’ll enable this pivot and build out for HR.

Job Responsibilities

Job Description and Requirements

  • Design and develop ETL/ELT (Extract / Transform / Load) automation to warehouse data in Snowflake from a variety of business systems, primarily Workday.
  • Analyze data to ensure consistency and integrity across systems. Design and refactor data queries and procedures for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data visualization experts to ensure data is logically modeled and is easily accessible. Create tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
  • Translate business requirements into design specifications and code. Ensure all code is well structured, includes sufficient documentation, and is easy to maintain and reuse.
  • Partner with internal clients to gain an enhanced understanding of the HR function and informational needs. Gains expertise in tools, technologies, and applications/databases in the HR/Talent areas and company-wide systems.
  • Builds and modifies complex Tableau data sources and writes complex SQL queries.
  • Designs and enforces security and data governance across downstream tools. Performs data quality control, data source and Tableau workbook debugging.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 additional years of related experience
  • 2 Years of relevant experience with data infrastructure tools focused on warehousing and analytics (e.g. Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics)
  • Demonstrated experience with data science relevant programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL, R) and/or with end-to-end BI dashboard creation, data blending and advanced charting techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 Years of Experience warehousing HR data and optimizing data models for curated visualization in Tableau and analysis in R
  • Strong experience with Workday APIs and RAAS reports; experience with HR data and people analytics
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker
  • Experience optimizing security administration and processes and systems to manage data governance/quality
  • Expertise in SQL and experience with ELT tools and processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and adjust to changing priorities
  • Anticipates questions, thinks ahead, plans for contingencies. Finds alternative/practical solutions when ideal solutions are not possible.
  • Has superb communication skills and the ability to frame problems and solutions quickly and concisely for a variety of audiences (e.g. engineers, analysts, data scientists, application admins).

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range for this role is between following values:

zł171 000 and zł257 000

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
