About the Customer Data Services (CDS) Lab

We're the team that looks after the customer data for the whole of Lloyds Banking Group. Our mission is to make this data available for the right purpose with the appropriate confidentiality and always ensuring a phenomenal engineering experience, performances, resilience, and integrity.

The systems we support, underpin almost everything we do as Lloyds Banking Group. We maintain these systems with the highest standard, with an ambition to take ownership of the operational support 24/7 using SRE principles.

About you

A confident data professional who is passionate about both data/analytics with an interest in solving problems through data and translating data into analytics based opportunities to solve problem for our customers.

Have the means to explain your analysis and ability to link that analysis to customer experience will be crucial to technical and non-technical audiences.

And you'll have the creativity we actively encourage to innovate and help create a truly market-leading customer data quality eco system.

Here's where you'll make a difference:

  • Developing high quality analysis and solutions, ingesting data from multiple different sources to build large and potentially complex data quality applications.

  • Responding to high priority incidents, regulatory & Group Exec Complaints, identifying root cause, identifying how many customers impacted as well as recommended solutions.

  • Providing critical 'customer data expertise' to help shape the approach to solving the problem and supplying new/exciting datasets into problem solving solutions.

  • Building Data Quality Dashboards and visualising issues & solutions through Power BI.

More specifically we'd like you to have much of the below list, but it's ok if you don't check every box:

  • 3+ years professional analytical data experience

  • Experience in sophisticated SQL scripts

  • Experience in data & problem visualisation Via Power BI

  • Scrum working principles

  • Experience with coding in Python or proficiency and desire to learn Python.

  • Grows own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities and provides specialised training or coaching in area of expertise to others throughout the organisation.

  • Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan to fix.

  • Delivers outcomes by leading others and working within current systems.

  • Defines, delivers, and adapts specialized products/services to meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.

  • Passionate about driving a modern and inclusive culture

  • Able to listen, reflect and respect the views of others as well as being able to communicate your own opinion but you're not strongly tied to it

  • A growth mindset, who encourages, mentor and motivates the teams around you

  • Ability to contribute to defining objectives to continuously improve and measure metrics

Location and Hybrid working

The role is based in one of the following locations: Bristol, London, or Manchester; with some travel to the other two locations. Our approach to hybrid working is still emergent but you should expect to be in office up to three days per week with home-working available for the remaining days.
