The data analyst provides actionable reports to identify pricing errors, stratify drugs for priority follow up, identify new opportunities for savings, validate and confirm all program requirements are met, audit for specific possible errors, etc. The individual with strong data analytic skills will develop a full understanding of critical 340B program requirements and learn critical elements of business management for pharmacies.
Under general supervision and according to established policies and processes, assesses the data development and collection needs of a designated departments. Coordinates the collection of and/or abstracts clinical, operational and financial data elements from multiple sources. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of data. Analyzes information to identify trends and present for recommendations for improvements, as appropriate. Develops and maintains databases as required. May assist with the implementation of new and existing policies, procedures, practices and standards.

What the Data Analyst will do:
- Analytical ability in order to participate in the strategic planning of the data resources: collect, analyze and report data; analyze and interpret discrepancies, issues or problems to ensure data accuracy and integrity; to identify appropriate sampling techniques; obtain advice when precedents are unclear or unavailable and to determine methods for ensuring compliance with functional/organizational/service line policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated communication and/or interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external customer/stakeholders related to data abstraction, manipulation, and analysis, and to effectively inform, instruct and facilitate the understanding and use of generated data.
- Technical knowledge of and ability to understand and ability to use spreadsheets, databases, and statistical analysis software programs.
- Familiarity with the extraction and manipulation of data from disparate sources to support the study of clinical, functional, service and cost outcomes.
- Technical knowledge of health-related data involved in clinical improvement, including medical record, administrative and financial data. Working knowledge of public health and other external data sources.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Information Management, or related field with strong data management or statistical analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
