PAY RANGE


The Target Pay Range for this position is $38.85-$47.45 hourly. The full Pay Range is $30.14-$56.25 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Summary


The Associate Digital Data Scientist will hold a role in the Digital Analytics team supporting Digital & Product, delivering forecasts, driving insights and enabling personalization by creatively deriving value from voluminous first party data. The position will foremost be responsible for conceptualizing, building and deploying data models to understand primary drivers for KPIs and forecasts. Further, building data models for Personalization, conducting exploratory analyses, and identifying optimization opportunities will also be key components of the role. The ideal candidate will be innovative and collaborative, and support BECU’s not-for-profit mission by steadily improving membership acquisition, financial health, channel and product adoption, and feature engagement.


Responsibilities


  • Develop statistical models that identify drivers for key Goals, create or enhance forecasting models and make recommendations for future goals.
  • Contribute to cross-team Personalization effort by designing data models for Digital Onboarding, feature engagement and adoption.
  • Contribute to KPIs & supporting metrics through data modeling and data analysis, with the potential to utilize machine learning tools to enhance metric benchmarks.
  • Create custom segmentations using first party data that aid in understanding and serving our consumer & business members.
  • Code efficient queries that incorporate multiple data sources using business information tools and cloud-based platforms.
  • Effectively communicate results to technical and non-technical groups, such as strategy teams, leadership and risk management auditors.
  • Routinely QA and monitor model performance for drift and / or data pipeline errors.
  • Design and present ad-hoc analyses, profiles and research as needed, applying valid methodologies.
  • Meet privacy, security and compliance standards for all financial and digital data operations.
  • Work with Data Governance to define data processes that are in production.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Associates degree or in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or similar math degree required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with scripting languages (SQL, Python, R, etc.) and statistical software (SAS, MatLab, ML platforms, etc.) required.
  • Experience in financial, digital or tech industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with data sources and systems including, Google Analytics / BigQuery, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, Alteryx, & Python preferred.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in visual data analytics tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Google Data Studio preferred.
  • Demonstrated presentation and project management skills required.
