Data Analyst Senior

Our work depends on a Data Analyst Senior joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. As a Data Analyst Senior supporting CMS, you will be trusted to work on leading data science tools to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Collaborating with CMS to solve FWA challenges
• Producing innovative solutions to solve complex issues and problems
• Utilizing a variety of methods (e.g., anomaly, social network, machine learning) to identify FWA
• Conducting ad hoc advanced analytics projects
• Translating findings into actionable insights for non-technical audiences

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelors degree with an analytical or technical focus (i.e., Statistics, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics)
• 5+ years of analytical experience, preferably using health care claim data in FWA applications
• Mastery of R or Python for data science (including machine learning)

• Familiarity and experience with one or more of the following data science packages: Pandas, NumPy, Tensorflow, Scikit learn, Seaborn, GGplot, Matplotlib

• 2 years experience in statistics and machine learning model development, such as: Anomaly detection by Principal Component Analysis (PCA); Machine learning model including neural network, Random Forest, XGBoost, Cluster analysis; Statistical regression models.

• Familiarity with SAS programming language
• Ability to create data visualizations to present complex analyses and to illustrate trends
• Expertise in SQL, Databricks, Snowflake and Spark languages/technologies
• Be a self-starter with a natural curiosity to understand, simplify and explain complex data

The likely salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
