About Team
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.
What You'll Do
- Improve the performance of search and recommendation engines for e-commerce
- Implement state-of-the-art machine learning models in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Information Retrieval, and Computer Vision
- Develop end-to-end ownership of major customer facing technologies and products
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders in Engineering and Product to deliver new features
- Write highly efficient code for superior model performance, and A/B test new ML models and algorithms
What You'll Bring
- Have a MS/PhD in relevant technical degree (preferably Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering etc.) with 6+ years of work experiences.
- Have expertise in state-of-the-art Neural Network algorithms in Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.
- Strong abilities in statistical methods and advanced modeling techniques (e.g., XGBoost, Random Forest, Bayesian inference, Neural Networks, Graphical Models, etc.)
- Experience using opensource frameworks (e.g.: Scikit Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.)
- Strong software development skills in languages such as Python, SQL, R, Scala, Java.
- Experience with Big Data processing and feature engineering using Spark.
- Experience with training machine learning models through Cloud Services including Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to clearly define problems, models and constraints from informal and flexible business requirements that often deal with competing objectives.
- Ability to effectively communicate the findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and through written communications.
- Previous experience as tech lead or manager is a big plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$230,000.00
Additional Compensation Includes Annual Or Quarterly Performance Incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
