Lead Data Analyst
Job Description:
The Global, Data Science and Market Intelligence team works closely with leadership to support strategic decision-making, handle customer requests, and build analytics products both internally and customer facing. The team is responsible for data analytics in support of strategic planning, supporting key customers and building Converge SaaS analytics product with other Arrow companies. The team is also involved in creation of pre-sales materials based on market and product analytics.
Function of the Position:
The Lead Data Analyst role is a full-time professional position that works with senior management to support strategic planning activities, help the development of Converge's SaaS Market Intelligence Platform and support customer's requests via data analytics. The role also involves project management and customer facing activities. This is a global role which involves coordinating and working with other Arrow teams and customers at different locations (U.S., Egypt, India).
Roles and Responsibilities:
Able to understand and follow Arrow Electronic's direction on forward looking communication.
Works closely with the product management and development team of Arrow's SaaS product company (SiliconExpert) to develop and improve Converge's market intelligence SaaS product.
Provides customized market insights through data analysis and presentations to key customers.
Lead data analytics related projects, and acts as a functional consultant to internal technical teams.
Performs exploratory data analysis on large data sets, builds analytics reports and ETL jobs with Hadoop/big data related technologies.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverages them across the company where appropriate.
Develops and maintains relationships with key internal customers to identify emerging needs and business challenges.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports and data analysis.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience in a data analytics/business intelligence related role.
- Ability to network effectively at all levels and influence without direct management oversight.
- Demonstrated strength in problem solving and analytics, capable of driving insight to action.
- Ability to articulate with strong presentation skills and to contribute to executive-level discourse; excellent written communication abilities.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience with dashboarding tools.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with at least 2 of the following programming languages and technologies: Python, SQL/HQL, Java, Sqoop, Oozie.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience in a data analytics/business intelligence related role.
- Experience with MS Power BI.
- Experience with cloud technologies.
- Experience in a customer facing consulting role.
