Overview: A family-owned forestry and logging business located in Northern California is looking for a Project Data Analyst. This position is assigned to timber processing and tracking job costs and will provide accurate, complete, and verified summaries to the Controller and Leadership Team. The Project Data Analyst for the Timber division will resolve issues as they arise, complete all load summaries, and scale tickets each day they are delivered for daily accurate reporting.
Handle all data entry and invoicing for projects.
Communicate and take instruction from Controller or Asset Manager regarding project data entry.
Review contracts for any pertinent information; i.e., payment terms, rates.
Track receivables and confirm payables. Audit for discrepancies.
Manage fuel costing.
Communicate with sub-contractors and track payment calendar.
Collaborate with payroll department to ensure cross billing is addressed timely.
Manage timber data tracking.
Compare Statement of Accounts (SOA) from Forest Service with monthly tracking records of timber cut to make sure they match.
Track letter of credits including new, expired, and completed jobs. Track stewardship credits for applicable sales.
Organize all correspondence and records for timber sales.
Calculate and pay timber yield taxes.
Fill in the data to complete Form T’s.
Set up costing with Asset Manager and Controller, enter into NetSuite, and communicate costing with Bookkeepers, Payroll, and HR.
Create standard operating procedures.
Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
Three to five years of experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reconciliation experience. Ability to identify errors and fix them.
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
