What You Are Responsible For 

  • You serve as primary point of contact for the leadership team, mentor other team members and cultivate a culture of continuous learning
  • You provide support for projects and initiatives, particularly during the initial setup phase, collaborating with the team to develop a suitable architecture, estimating efforts, and assigning suitable and available Data Engineers
  • You feel comfortable leading Data & AI projects in very close collaboration with our internal clients while ensuring high quality and stability through agile processes and peer code reviews and increasing efficiency and time-to-market by implementing re-usable data models, architecture templates, and shippable data products
  • You take ownership of technical evaluations of new candidates during the hiring process
  • You stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data architecture and engineering. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance data management and analysis capabilities

What You Are Good At

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in a data architecture or engineering role leading colleagues functionally or disciplinary and a degree/PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline or other significant work experience and you love mathematics and statistics
  • You have extensive knowledge of Azure, AWS and GCP cloud environments, architecture best practices and tools relevant for machine learning / AI use case and massive hands-on experience of Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks, such as Terraform and/or ARM templates
  • You have proven experience in ETL processes, data extraction, transformation, and loading with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and/or Azure Synapse Analytics and experience of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and deployment best practices
  • You have knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks like scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Azure ML, etc. (including ML interpretability) and excellent programming skills in Python & SQL in general
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills, considering varying levels of precision and matching the audience, fluently in English and German
  • Knowledge about the energy industry is considered as plus
