About The Opening - Lead Data Engineer

As the Lead Data Engineer at this company, you'll be at the helm of our data engineering function, crafting and maintaining the backbone of our analytics infrastructure. Join a dynamic team driving innovation with a tech stack hosted in AWS, including Airflow, Redshift, dbt, Kubernetes, Spark, and Metabase. Manage a talented team, own data ops, and work hands-on with cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small, agile team, develop the data engineering roadmap, and collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Data Ops Ownership: Architect, monitor, and enhance our AWS data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with DevOps for seamless operations.
• Data Engineering IC: Engage hands-on with projects, from building data pipelines to resolving incidents and integrating external data sources.
  
  

Requirements: Hard Skills:

• Demonstrable roadmap development experience
• Proficiency in SQL and a scripting language (Python, Java, Scala)
• Deep knowledge of databases, data structures, and distributed systems
• 5+ years of data engineering experience
  
  

Soft Skills

• Leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams
• Autonomy in developing and executing technical roadmaps
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
• Curious and resilient mindset, thriving in a dynamic environment
