Responsibilities: - Work under the direction of the product owner as part of an agile team
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of architects, developers and product managers to develop and deliver advanced analytics solutions
- Research, articulate and propose proper usage of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics to align with business goals
- Develop processes to collect and streamline varying data sources into data repositories
- Transform data and analysis into informative visualizations and interactive dashboards using open-source and commercially available tools
- Leverage analytical tools to create data pipelines, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
- Help leverage open source and commercial artificial intelligence platforms, where possible
- Help build required optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources and technologies
- Implement techniques to understand and clean raw and unstructured data (data wrangling) as needed
- Implement statistics, data checking, and internal controls on data reporting and quality, consistency as needed
Experience in establishing and enforcing standards and practices- 3 years of professional production data engineering experience
- 2+ years of professional production experience with AWS
- 2+ years of professional production experience with Apache Spark
- 3+ year of experience developing dashboards using data visualization tools
- 3+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL
- 3+ years of professional programming
- Strong understanding of and experience with VA's use of Atlassian Tool suite preferred
- Knowledge of technology across all mainstream network, operating systems, and application platforms; operational support of operating systems, Internet technologies, databases, and security applications; procedures, and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to obtain Tier 2 Background Investigation clearance
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science or other relevant discipline
- Minimum of 3 years IT experience.
- Additional 3 years of relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelors’ degree
