As the next part of its growth journey, NCS is now setting up a Centre of Excellence (COE) for Artificial Intelligence. In April 2021, NCS formed a strategic alliance with one of the fastest growing Enterprise AI company called C3.AI based out of the US, to address emerging opportunities in Southeast Asia and Australia/ New Zealand. Powered by C3 as well as its own organic data and AI solutions, the AI COE will spearhead NCS’ efforts to be a pre-eminent provider of Enterprise-grade AI solutions for the public sector, telecommunications, transport, energy and financial services industries (“priority verticals”).
The NCS COE aims to recruit the best data and AI talent available in APAC to advance its technical and commercial agenda. The Data Scientist will be an integral part of the NCS COE technical team, which also comprises software engineering, data engineering and product management roles. The COE technical team functions like a project team supporting the planning, specification and building of AI-based applications. Within the technical team, the Data Scientist will develop AI/ML models using the C3 AI Suite or cloud other platforms and built-in tools.
The AI COE Data Scientist is a well-rounded individual skills-wise, working closely with the other members of the COE technical team on driving and managing the entire analytics life-cycle to address specified business problems. He or she will also work closely with other NCS practices such as DataSpark to build and develop data and AI-based assets. A more senior Data Scientist will have the opportunity to lead and manage the COE Technical Team.
Analyse data. Apply data mining techniques to interrogate datasets for patterns and regularities. Develop data models based on advanced statistical modeling, data mining and machine learning methods. Implement automated processes to produce scale models.
Prepare data sets. Build code to scrub, combine and manage data from variety of sources. Drive data collection efforts. Extract data from data sources and integrate multiple data sets to build larger and more complex data sets for proposed uses
Present insights. Assist with the development of actionable recommendations. Develop compelling, logically structured presentations with data findings. Guide stakeholders on how to act on the findings
Manage projects. Assist in the conceptualisation of analytical projects. Maintain project plans and status reports. Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders throughout the whole analytics life-cyle. Prepare documentation to outline data sources, models and algorithms used and developed, for client reference
