Get to know the Role:
  • The Growth Analytics & Insights pod sits within the GFG Analytics team, supporting the GFG product and business organizations horizontally. Therefore, the role has a wide scope of influence, from GFG business verticals (i.e. Payments, Lending, Insurance, Invest, Rewards and Growth and Engagement) to foundational functions such as PayCore and Compliance.
  • We care deeply about understanding how customers (including users, driver-partners, merchants, agents, etc) experience our products and partner with various stakeholders to generate impactful insights for better decision making.
  • We aim to champion data-driven culture and figure out how to utilize data for problems that can be open-ended and ambiguous.
  • While we aim to provide thought leadership and generate data-driven hypotheses to solve key problems, collaboration with stakeholders and other analysts is key, especially for promoting GFG’s growth.
  • Mine data from various sources, including transactions, clickstream, and product funnels, for strategic insight generation on user behavior.
  • Curate and present insights to stakeholders with an emphasis on data-driven actionable recommendations.
  • In partnership with Product / Business team or individually, observe and identify the strategic gaps in clarity needed across the different areas within the GFG org, and plug them in a data backed way by initiating projects.
  • Contribute to efforts in socialising and getting buy-ins for projects from GFG leadership so that as an org we are working on the most impactful pieces.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and wider analytics team and stay up to date on product/business/analytics initiatives and metrics to identify gaps and/or connect insights from different products.
  • Successfully provide reliable and on-time deliverables to meet individual stakeholder needs
  • Build and maintain self-serve solutions for stakeholder groups that are scalable and automated to handle a dynamic environment
What are we looking for:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Statistics, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative subjects from Tier 1 universities
  • 0-3 years experience or multiple internships (for Data Scientist (Analytics)) and 3+ years experience (for Senior Data Scientist (Analytics)) in Analytics, Business Intelligence or Data Science role, preferably in an Internet or E-Commerce company with large, complex, high-velocity data
  • Advanced SQL writing skills and experience in querying large relational databases
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis/programming tools like R or Python and Data Visualization platforms like Tableau / PowerBI / D3.js, etc., as well as ability to learn more advanced analysis skills
  • Excellent storytelling skills; ability to distill data and articulate an actionable point of view to non-technical audiences and senior stakeholders using presentations, interactive visualizations, et al.
  • A lateral thinker who is able to connect micro details with macro goals, identify opportunities and solve problems innovatively.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and solve ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, principled and driven to do the right thing for an organisation. Able to operate independently with a high degree of ambiguity; a person who enjoys and learns from experimentation.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with designing, running, and analyzing A/B tests and product experiments. Should also have an understanding of hypothesis testing and the basic principles of DoE
