Premise is growing rapidly and we're searching for an inquisitive and contributor-focused Growth Marketing - Data Engineer. Sitting in our San Francisco, CA office, this person will architect and build the Premise marketing data ecosystem to enable data activation and segmentation capabilities across acquisition and retention marketing.

What you get to do:

  • Architect and build the Premise marketing data ecosystem to enable data activation and segmentation capabilities across acquisition and retention marketing
  • Integrating or joining datasets from various paid media, measurement and analytics sources
  • Managing API and SDK partner integrations, from a requirements and quality assurance POV
  • Extract, clean, enhance and convert data (ETL Processing)
  • Mine & analyze all different types of company data (user behaviour, marketing analytics data, media performance and raw server logs ...)
  • Visualize data with charts and dashboards
  • Find ways to automate and scale repeated ad-hoc requests
  • Generate actionable hypotheses and insights

What your day-to-day looks like:

  • Breaking down the technical barriers to accessing, organizing and visualizing business intelligence data that drives growth
  • Developing a full funnel analytics dashboard which ties attribution source to lifetime app engagement metrics and behavioral analytics
  • Applying the scientific method to the development of AB tests and experiments, along with the analysis of marketing campaigns across channels including: Social, Display, Email and Mobile Push
  • Responsible for the data & analytics platform integrations, including SDK updates, working alongside Product and Engineering teams
  • Monitoring key performance indicators, make data-driven recommendations based on aggregating performance data and build projections based on analysis of historical raw data
  • Breaking down ambiguous problems by defining key success criteria, and developing data-driven and prioritized roadmaps to deliver results
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders in operations, product, data science and engineering to ideate and drive forward the biggest growth ideas

The following traits probably describe you:

  • 3-5 years working in a data-science / data engineering role at a tech start up
  • A solid understanding and intuition of statistics and data science with a degree in a technical field such as computer science, statistics, economics, applied math or engineering
  • Experience working with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, regression models, etc
  • Expertise of SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g. hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages, such as R or Python
  • Results-oriented, data expert who thrives on identifying and executing growth opportunities
  • An advocate of using data to make business decisions, build business cases and support campaign optimizations
  • Ability to structure and query large amounts of data, build models and derive insights. Experience with either BigQuery, Looker, Periscope and Amplitude
  • Proficient with relevant web technologies (JavaScript, REST APIs, databases, ...)
  • Good communicator who can explain and understand complex problems while dealing with both non-technical and technical teams
  • 2-3 years of work experience in digital marketing, data science, web and/or database marketing analytics

Bonus Points:

  • Some experience in app marketing disciplines with a emphasis on implementing marketing technology stacks including messaging and attribution platforms
  • Experience with attribution modeling, predictive LTV modeling
  • Have worked with either of the following marketing technology, analytics & measurement platforms: Branch, Amplitude, GA / Firebase, LeanPlum, Big Query, Looker
  • Experience designing and maintaining data warehouses
  • Developing for Google Cloud Platform/Google Professional Data Engineer Certified
