  • Full-time (35 hrs week), 2-year fixed term contract

Provide high level data management support to the infectious disease point-of-care testing programs including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander COVID-19 Point of care (POC) Testing Program, other POC testing programs and related research. Working closely with the program researchers, you will actively engage with stakeholders to support and strengthen data management processes and procedures for program monitoring, evaluation and reporting and implementation research activities.

Who you are

You have a degree in data science/health information management or public health, as well as the following skills and experience: -

  • Recent experience working as a senior data scientist/manager working with confidential/sensitivity health data as part of research or program implementation
  • Experience with data analysis/ data cleaning using software such as STATA, SAS or SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced and ideally having contributed to academic publications
  • Ability to influence senior management and stakeholders as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes
  • Sound influencing and consultation skills and proven ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, ideally including experience working with primary care health services
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands
  • Experience developing and managing dashboards in Tableau highly desirable
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
