My client is a Global market leader in the Retail / B2C industry. They are hiring a permanent position of a Lead Data Scientist (Retail, B2C) to partner the COO in terms of projects related to expansion globally. They currently have a strong presence in China.

about the job

Reporting to and working closely with the COO, your responsibilities include:

• Using predictive modelling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
• Providing data science expertise to sales, marketing, finance teams
• Developing custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets and explore new technologies to strengthen the organization as a data driven company
• Crunching, analysing and investigating various kinds of data, across industries and use cases
• Overseeing the training of junior and senior data scientists as a plan to expand the team as well
• Exploring new machine learning algorithms, and apply them to real-world business applications
• Mining and analysing data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies

skills and experience required

As a successful candidate, you will have:

• At least 8 years of experience in statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
• Strong experience in predictive modelling
• Candidates from Retail, Ecommerce background preferred
• Strong communication skills, logical thinking skills and service consciousness
