About This Role
The Principal Analyst is a customer facing role within the Technology, Analytics and Data Insights (TADI) group for Global Safety and Regulatory Sciences (GSRS) department, reporting to the Associate Director of Operation Reporting and Analytics (OpRA). This role requires an individual who can work closely within business functions to quickly understand their processes and the systems they use. The ability to extract, model and present data to make it useful is paramount to the success of this role as is the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff. You will be responsible for meeting with the customers and translating their needs into requirements. We have a strong team and collaborate on many of our solutions. We are eager to both help you develop as well as learn from your experiences.
What You’ll Do
Partner with business functions to gather gaps in ability to consume their data
Ensure availability of data sources and create process(es) to store and structure it in support of reporting solution(s)
Ensure data integrity via SQL scripts, QC reports (or other methods)
Automate, Automate, Automate
Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, report discrepancies and field other customer inquiries
Work closely with our IT partners to troubleshoot and escalate (if necessary) business system issues

You love data analytics and are passionate about presenting it in creative ways to help others drive key business decisions. You love learning new technological skills and working through collaboration
10+ years expertise with Tableau and/or PowerBI
5+ years of data modeling experience
Expert documentation skills including ERD, process flow and user guides
2+ years of experience with ETL tools (Alteryx a plus)
5+ years of T-SQL
Data modeling experience
Preclinical Science experience with CDISC / SEND
Understanding of Regulatory processes and RIM (Regulatory Information Management) experience
