Data Engineer

BioTalent is pleased to be working with a unique microbiome startup organisation based in London, UK. Their technology has applications within the agriculture sector and is producing terabytes of microbiome data on a weekly basis. The client is backed by some exceptional venture capital investment, allowing them to advance to the next step of development and are looking to hire a Data Engineer who specialises in Warehouse Development. You will be responsible for: Designing the clients first data warehouse platform. Pipeline setup and data input from various sources. Supporting with automation of backend processes alongside the Bioinformatics and Data Science units. Collaborating with scientists who produce and analyse raw materials, streamlining and optimising the cohesive partnership with the systems you create. Actively supporting a culture of continuous learning and high-quality delivery. You will bring the following: Data warehouse development experience including work with SQL and with developing ETL pipelines (warehouse development from the ground up, either collaboratively or stand-alone). Proficiency with Python development. Desirable - experience with DNA/RNA data and/or microbiome science. Desirable - experience using cloud services and/or frontend development (R Shiny or React).
