As a data scientist you will work with leaders and data scientist from around the world to support and deliver AECOM’s data science projects, to share best practices, leverage global capabilities and to support opportunities and projects.
This is not a typical data science role as you will have the opportunity to work with unique datasets i.e. design prediction and automation, text mining of historic handwritten documents etc. in different engineering disciplines.
+ Under the limited supervision of the Supervising Discipline Scientist, may perform technical assignments of various complexities within approved scientific schedules and budgets.
+ May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
+ May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned scientific personnel.
+ Demonstrable ability and relevant qualification in machine learning, encompassing both supervised and unsupervised techniques
+ Experience in deploying machine learning models using appropriate tools, libraries and platforms (e.g. R, Python, Microsoft Azure)
+ Strong capability in a statistical programming language (e.g. Python, R)
+ Effective decision making and strong verbal and written communication
+ Proactive and driven approach to work and creating success
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to work with a wide range of Clients and Consultants
+ Buy-in to achieving deadlines set by Clients and Managers
+ Able to produce auditable outputs with clear record of error checking and demonstration of validity in results
+ Takes pride in quality and appearance of Client deliverables
+ A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
+ Capability in data analysis and associated applications desirable, eg: Visualisation tools (Plot.ly libraries, Power BI), PaaS (Azure, AWS), databases, statistics packages, web-based and desktop programming technologies
+ Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
