Harmonia Holdings Group, LLC, an award-winning, minority & female-owned federal government contractor, has an exciting opportunity for a Data/ ETL Engineer to join our team and assist with migrating tabular and geospatial data to Apache Spark (on Cloudera). This responsibility will entail building a strong data migration strategy for moving the data efficiently and then a significant amount of spark SQL, python, and Informatica development to translate all existing ETL and ELT code and transformations to the new technology, ensuring 100% equivalent functionality in the new platform. In order to perform this work to these standards, the below experience is required. *This position can be remote but must work on an EST time zone schedule.

  • Experience building end-to-ETL processes for a variety of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources using a range of tools, including some ETL tools (Informatica, Databricks, etc.)
  • Experience with Spark and open-source programming (Python) ingested into a Cloudera/Impala Data Lake environment, including development in Apache Sedona, and/or previous GIS processing (Geospark, Teradata, etc.) experience.
  • Experience designing and developing data integration/engineering workflows on big data technologies and platforms (Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, Hive, HBase).
  • Strong background in SQL, Python, Linux, ETL best practices, strong attention-to-detail, and a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with AWS, Hadoop (Cloudera/Impala), Hive, Apache Spark, Apache Sedona, Nifi and/or Kafka.
  • Experience using common data science tools & libraries (e.g. NumPy, Pandas,etc.)
  • Experience in Cloud Migration
  • Experience with Information Security/Data Governance processes
  • US Citizenship is required
