Job Summary:
The Human Resources Sr. Data Analyst understands a specific area of work with a singularity focus. The Sr. Analyst will examine and interpret information, aid in strategic planning and process design. The Analyst will be knowledgeable in business systems and will break down information into smaller parts to use for trending, forecasting, trouble shooting, and supporting Human Resources and SHI Leadership.

The Sr. Analyst understands business acumen and essentials to troubleshoot issues, support and respond to inquiries. The Sr. Data Analyst will work closely with management to support SHI across numerous initiatives with a focus on Data Collection & Analysis. The Sr. Data Analyst will serve as a mentor and provide guidance to other Data Analysts on the team.

This position is fulltime onsite at SHI HQ/New Jersey and reports to a manager or lead.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with SHI management to support company initiatives across numerous projects
  • Data collection & analysis of employee activity across various databases and milestones
  • Track & detail SHI and employee activity across SHI departments and systems
  • Generate reports from multiple databases/data sets merging into spreadsheets and/or database
  • Creation of custom and complex formulas and macros in Microsoft Excel and Access for reporting and database management
  • Plan and Design backend Databases to collect data and produce streamlined metrics that can be reviewed and utilized in multiple ways by SHI management
  • Analyze, interpret, format, and summarize data for management review
  • Support requests and project initiatives from other SHI departments based on excel data
  • Ensure backend databases are secure, updated with all changes and enhancements, and producing accurate metrics
  • Review success and lessons learned for future improvements, including enhancements to all custom databases and overflow of workflow
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively regarding pending projects
  • Provide guidance and training to the data analyst team, serving as mentor to assist with larger projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (data analytics, accounting/business/finance, math/statistics, etc.)
  • 3 years of Data Analyst Experience
  • Experience with Power BI or other dashboard programs
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Access for reporting and database management
  • Experienced with Microsoft Tools

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate-level skill or higher)
  • Proficiency in MS Access (or similar database programs)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Proficient in managing and prioritizing multiple project tasks effectively, while working independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Analytically driven and oriented
  • Ability to be trust worthy and hold confidential information sensitively
  • Ability to understand all aspects of employment and human resources related laws, regulations, policies, concepts, and practice
  • Ability to generate HR reporting/metrics based on business needs
  • Ability to be proactive: foreseeing problems and providing solutions
  • Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
  • Ability to learn new processes and technology to apply within the role
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management and employees
  • Ability to motivate, mentor and train

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional experience as a data analyst
