This job supports the Department of Human Services Medical Services Division. The primary responsibility is to perform data abstraction using various data collection methods for the purposes of reporting federal quality measurement and quality improvement. The Medicaid Clinical Quality Data Analyst will collect, analyze, and report data, use excellent analytical skills to interpret clinically significant information, and plays a key role aligning health care quality measures with the North Dakota Medicaid Quality Strategy.
Performs primary data abstraction duties for Adult and Child Core Health Care Quality Measurement Sets and other Medicaid programs with federal quality measurements. Collected data is entered into the MACPro System for federal reporting. Internal quality reports are generated using medical claims data, survey, and quality measure results for quality initiatives and quality improvement projects. Demonstrates high standard of accuracy and attention to detail while abstracting health care quality measures and entering reports in MACPro. Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of medical record review and the handling of protected health information. Must have a clinical background that includes experience with data abstraction and reporting of health care quality measures. Must be familiar with medical records, medical claims, coding, surveys, and standard health care quality concepts. Demonstrates strong communication, documentation, organizing, and planning skills to ensure strong leadership to report on multiple health care quality measurements concurrently.
