It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry as we continue on a major transformation programme. HMLR's ambition is to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.

We are now looking for Associate Data Analysts to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.

HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.

Job description

As an Associate Data Analyst, you will primarily be working as part of the Local Land Charges (LLC) quality assurance team.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the migration and transformation of Local Authority Local Land Charges (LLC) data into the HM Land Registry LLC register, by evaluating the accuracy, completeness and conformance of the supplied data at a variety of predesignated check points.

You will perform a range of quality tests against the data, confirming it has achieved the required standard and/or identifying specific areas where re-work, cleanse or additional capture is required. You will act as the first line of support and referral on quality assurance decisions for junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

To meet the requirements of this role, you will have a degree in a relevant subject (computer science, mathematics/statistics, geography or IT-related) or have the equivalent industry experience, and the ability to interpret quality standards and quality assurance outputs to identify where automated validation routines can be introduced and/or enhanced.

You will be able to consolidate, integrate and interpret geographic information and mapping data from a variety of different sources and you will also have excellent attention to detail, with a proven ability of applying a methodical and consistent approach to assessing information across a variety of different data sources. In addition, you will have experience of delivering data quality analysis based on defined requirements and strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to assess, adjust and prioritise concurrent work activities.

The ability to make actionable recommendations based on quality assurance outcomes or findings, and the ability to develop and enhance quality assurance routines is essential. You will also have good IT skills, with recent experience of utilising Microsoft based software, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
