We are looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about helping individuals improve their health and supporting the move towards more preventative healthcare. As a member of the Huma AI team, you will be working closely with clinical, product, and engineering teams as you build and maintain machine learning models that move the needle for the company. The machine learning engineer is responsible for the creation and development of new machine learning bricks for our predictive healthcare decision-making engine.

This role can be based in the UK, Germany, Switzerland or Italy.

Your mission

    • Build machine learning (and deep learning) pipelines to assess risk for a number of diseases using integrated big data from various data sources i.e. electronic medical records, behavioural, and environmental information, genetics, wearable data, and medical imaging data
    • Develop code and framework for collecting, cleaning, and analysing large and/or unstructured datasets
    • Write new algorithms to deliver personalized health-promoting content recommendations based on a range of features
    • Collaborate with engineers to integrate algorithms efficiently with backend production services and monitor them after launch
    • Work with the product team to define new products, build ML solutions and integrate them into the roadmap
    • Improve and help define the AI team’s processes and tooling

From day one in this role we’ll expect you to have

    • An MSc or PhD in software engineering, computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a similar technical field.
    • 3 years experience with popular coding frameworks in machine learning
    • Traditional ML models (k-means, KNN, decision trees, SVM, Bayesian/graphical models, Gaussian process, etc.)
    • Deep learning fundamentals (CNN, RNN, attention/memory, Autoregressive) and extensions (Transformer, LSTM, ResNet, etc.)
    • Ability to follow papers/theory and adapt associated models
    • Confident using Linux and scripting
    • Desire to produce clean, legible code
    • Experience with SQL and modern relational / NoSQL databases

It’s great, but not required, if you have

    • Healthcare experience, although strongly preferred
    • NLP specialization (NLU, NLI, QA, BERT, GPT, T5, XLNet, etc.)
    • MLOps and cloud environment (resource configuration, optimization)
