The Business Data Analyst - Healthcare Operations is responsible for creating a seamless relationship between vendor-provided services and market operations. This role is accountable for analyzing vendor services, and performance data to optimize operations and support operational and business objectives resulting in consistent, efficient and exceptional Customer Service. This individual will also be responsible for managing our vendor processing team.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Researches, retrieves, designs and delivers organized analytics and reporting of PSU services
  • Analyzes benchmarking data, reports, processes, and measurement
  • Provides PSU process oversight
  • Develops and documents complex business analysis and reporting requirements
  • Evaluates and prioritizes data changes and enhancements
  • Monitor on a monthly basis all core operational metrics and works with department staff to remediate issues if metrics are missed
  • Makes decisions of considerable impact and consequences involving technology, systems and PSU expense trends
  • Interprets data, facts and/or trends independently and makes business recommendations to management
  • Coordinates a variety of projects/requests simultaneously and ensures timely completion in accordance with business initiatives
  • Develops innovative approaches to achieve deliverables
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on department trends and behaviors as well as operational resource needs and performance
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Healthcare Administration or Statistics (2 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • 1+ year (s) of experience creating reports and analyzing data in Excel
  • Experience presenting data to management and/ or senior leaders to influence decision making
  • Advanced expertise in Excel functions with the ability to perform v look ups, create pivot tables, write logic formulas to perform data and statistical analysis
  • Background in Healthcare related field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in VBA or ability to write Macros in MS Excel
  • Experience MS Access
  • Experience in SQL
  • Experience with HEDIS and Stars measures
