The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Data Analyst’s to join our QCHF/see-u based in Brisbane/Townsville. You will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into interactive data products and actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making within our organisation. You will be responsible for building reports and analysing complex datasets, utilizing tools such as SQL, Python, and Tableau to extract meaningful patterns and trends and the ability to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders at all levels. This role will report to our Head of Insights, Analytics and Data Science.
You Will
- Extract and manipulate data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with the data engineering and actuarial teams to optimize data pipelines for efficiency, scalability, and distribution.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and identify trends relevant to business objectives.
- Create interactive data products to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
- Keep up to date on changes and best practices within the industry.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including actuaries and product managers, to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on analytics best practices and data interpretation.
Our teams work flexibly from the home and our head office and utilise technologies to ensure we can collaborate and communicate effectively.
About You
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically and strategically.
- 3-5 years demonstrable technical experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting effective data analysis outcomes, including (not limited to): data wrangling, data profiling, and analysis of data.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Business Analytics or a similar discipline (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development methodology.
- Proven experience working as a data analyst or a similar role within the healthcare or insurance industry (preferred)
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, with hands-on experience in statistical analysis and modelling.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL or R for data pre-processing, analysis, and visualization in Tableau dashboards
As this role expects you to work collaboratively with your team and offer solutions to HBF stakeholders, you will need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in presenting recommendations and technical language in a simple and understandable manner.
