This is a principal engineer role that will be responsible for Data Migration efforts that support the Consumer and Small Business Banking Technology group. You will be responsible for designing solutions for complex projects involving data migration from legacy platforms to modern technologies. You will work with architects to define target state architecture, and then guide engineers to realize that vision. This is a unique role within a team of 2,000 technology team members and will influence and set direction for the modernization efforts of critical core banking systems. Many of these modernization efforts will take a phased approach, only gradually strangling the old systems, requiring data to remain concurrent across multiple systems. These are all operational systems and not analytical databases. The data migration efforts will initially focus on change data capture (CDC) on the legacy systems and building resilient, low latency data pipelines to migrate the data into new distributed (cloud) systems. The data pipelines will require knowledge of ETL, event processing and data streams and the building of target databases (NoSQL and RDBMS).
