The role:

An exciting opportunity has become available to work on a 30-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between the University of Exeter and CIBSE. The KTP will deliver and embed a new generation of predictive weather datasets, based on UKCP18 data, for the design of low carbon and climate change-resilient buildings.

The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Exeter and will be based at CIBSE’s premises in Balham, South London.

Qualification / skills we require:

  • A good first degree and/or Masters (or PhD at Grade F) in Engineering, Maths or a related field of study, with a focus on building physics.
  • Demonstrable Experience of using dynamic simulation tools to undertake analysis of various aspects of a building, such as energy, thermal, renewable systems or daylight.
  • An aptitude for the statistical aspects of the work being undertaken; candidates who are able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience will be at a distinct advantage
  • A high level of independent organisational and research skills.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for acquiring new knowledge and skills.
  • The ability to collect, analyse and interpret large volumes of real-world data.
  • High levels of adaptability and the capacity to drive forward a project in a dynamic and rapidly changing context.
  • Exceptional self-management, communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to present their work to a wide variety of audiences.
