About the role

Your mission:

  • Based in Canada, you will work closely with our team in Hong Kong to build AI products.
  • Promote data exploitation and deliver AI-based and machine learning solutions used by the different teams of the organization and by customers. These AI initiatives strive to continuously improve our customers’ experience and satisfaction.
  • Integrate a team with high visibility and which will offer you a wide array of challenges.
  • Help evolve AI-based and machine learning software products, while working on models required by the organization’s systems.

Collaboration with Hong Kong?

About one year ago, we opened an office in Hong Kong, and we are looking for an actuary or a data scientist to support, from Canada, our office in Hong Kong. You will play a key role in the collaboration between Canada and Hong Kong. In this role, you will be one of the faces of the Hong Kong team in Canada. This means you will work closely with the stakeholders and users to achieve the project objectives.

Since this position require a close collaboration with teams located Hong Kong, an atypical schedule will be required to make it work. There is a 12 hours difference between Hong Kong and Montreal/Toronto. We believe that there are many ways of making this work and we are open to pick the right one for you.

You have:

  • Post-secondary education in Machine Learning, Data Science (or related field) or degree in Actuarial Science (asset)
  • Ability to work with a certain amount of uncertainty and issues requiring the application of a creative approach
  • Strong influencing, team spirit, networking and leadership skills
  • 2 years of experience as a data scientist or an actuary
  • Understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence or the willingness to learn

Flexible Work Arrangements

Right now, we support 100% remote work, if your role permits. We anticipate that in early 2022, we’ll be moving to a hybrid approach which gives us the best of both worlds – a mix of home and in-office workdays.
