As the Senior Data Scientist for Content and Music you will play a key role in the design and provision of the information our leaders need to make decisions and take the lead in identifying trends and actions that will help our team deliver the company goals. You will not only deliver standard outputs, building data sets, run analyses, share insights and create analytics but be a great teammate, preferably with previous Content side analytic experience who enjoys and thrives in a fast paced, cross-functional environment, can manage a diverse project portfolio, loves working and learning in a new and evolving technology sector and enjoys being a key part of a large operational team!

This is a role in the new Business Strategy group within Content and Music and your insights and discoveries will lead to the evaluation of the success of all of our business as usual and critical initiatives and directly advise our investment and production decisions.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Research and document all data sources relevant to content and build and maintain a master entity relationship diagram to act the primary reference for content insights
  • Review pre-existing reports and queries and cross-reference filters and logic to create a library of rules and policies for ensuring consistent results are generated
  • Audit the accuracy, relevance and use of existing content related dashboards, queries and reports and implement a retain, update or decommission process
  • Engage with content leaders and cross-functional partners to extract a set of requirements for insights and regular reporting
  • Review all content division initiatives and design insights, data and reports that would prove the value of each initiative and track the success criteria
  • Evaluate the scope of data and solutions and design and implement the solution set and data architecture to deliver the business requirements
  • Work with the central data science team to agree resourcing and roles and responsibilities for the publishing of the data required to meet the business requirements
  • Create and maintain the library of reports and dashboards and automate the publishing or refresh of self serve reporting to stakeholders
  • Increase the frequency of reporting to track the performance of business as usual functional programs or new critical initiatives to advise changes to the strategy
  • Ensure the processes and policies put in place for member engagement with content are applied to all content insights and work with other team members to implement them
  • Act as the content team lead in the creation of a working group for standards and best practices on data across data science and peers in other divisions

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • Experience in data analysis and / or trend identification in subscriber behavior preferably in relation to content, fitness or media
  • Experience of delivering insights and reporting directly to senior executives and across multiple divisions in a comparably sized organization
  • Experience of all stages of the insights journey from data query, analysis, presentation of results, drawing conclusions and making recommendations
  • Experience of delivering to multiple collaborators and the prioritization and delivery of requests in line with the objectives of the division
  • Direct experience or working knowledge of some or all of the technologies within the technology requirements section of this job description and ability to demonstrate past experience of adopting new technologies
  • Experience of designing sophisticated queries and algorithms that can be used to generate new datasets based on source data using business logic
