Our Data, Geospatial and Analytics team is currently looking for a Junior Data Analyst/Engineer with experience of managing, analysing and visualising data across a range of markets such as Environment, Infrastructure, Power and transportation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding and implementation of projects through Data Analytics and Engineering. We are looking for an ambitious team player with strong development skills who wishes to assist in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and demanding. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.
Nationally our Data, Geospatial and Analytics team comprises of over 40 staff and provides the centre of excellence for spatial and non-spatial data management within our UK & Ireland business. The team has an established track record of successfully delivering data platforms (GIS or Web-based database systems) to project teams and clients in the UK and Internationally. We are now looking to enhance and grow this team with an individual that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload.
The team provides services ranging from Data Analytics, Data Modelling, GIS mapping and cartography, spatial analysis, mobile GIS, Integration with BIM and EDMS, database development and data management, and web hosted solutions. The team leverage their skills and experience by providing data, geospatial technical and advisory services to both internal and external clients on a wide range of projects from small scale assessments to large scale, complex, multi-disciplinary projects for public sector and private sector clients.
We work with leading UK and International clients in the transportation, power, oil and gas sectors as well as local authorities and other government departments.
We have an impressive portfolio of major national and international projects. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:
+ Creation of a Dewatering Web Monitoring System for Hinkley Point C and A303 Stonehenge Project.
+ Development of Dashboards in R and PowerBI to capture the status of Ecology Surveys for HS2.
+ Assisting Transport for London in the creation of a cycle infrastructure database for Greater London.
+ Use of Python and SQL to model overflights from a major London Airport.
+ Delivery of Civil Design and Environmental Statement for Eastern leg of the HS2 Phase 2B scheme.
+ Spatial data management for the delivery of DCO application of Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.
+ Utilising spatially enabled database technology to provide the next generation of multi-criteria analysis for Planning projects
+ Aiding in the visualisation and spatial data management for an LNG facility in Mozambique.
+ Experience in developing modules and code in Python and/or R.
+ Use of PowerBI, Tableau and similar dash-boarding platforms.
+ Geospatial Data Analytics using Python, ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS or SQL Server.
+ Understanding of statistics
+ Understanding of how data science and data engineering can be used in Environmental Analysis applications.
+ Data Management in SQL databases (preference of Microsoft SQL Server)
+ R-Shiny / Jupyter Notebooks
+ A degree qualification in a Computing / IT / Science background although we will consider applications with other backgrounds dependent on experience.
