By joining our team as our first Data Scientist you will have the opportunity to help us map out what Data Science should do in a large emergency service, whilst also working on interesting projects like prediction models to help keep our population safe, extracting insights from unstructured data (like free text) and explore new and unique ways to help us improve our efficiency and effectiveness as a service. You will have experience working with complex datasets and solving challenging business problems. You will be integrated into a team of approx. 12 experienced analysts, so will have full support with regards to the data, the policy landscape and the organisational priorities. There is potential to grow and develop in this team, as well as scale up outputs to a national and international level as appropriate. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC.
